Having had a youth of chronic fatigue, M.E and poor digestion, Primrose set out on a mission to understand her body and what was needed to maintain it in perfect health. This led her into Naturopathic and Complementary health studies and a degree in Homeopathy the knowledge of which she has used to design natural and wholesome food.  She started with muesli as breakfast is (as a nation) our favourite meal of the day due to its quick assembly and had a desire to  make it into a healthy food for any occasion, not just first thing in the morning.

By including ingredients you might associate more with lunch or dinner such as beetroot and carrot she wanted create a versatile health food that tasted great and could be eaten as a healthy snack whatever time of the day. Ideally for a more balanced diet we should be eating as much or more fruit and vegetables than we do grains.

From this it seemed logical that if she was going to add a healthy ingredient like vegetables why not add other nutritious ingredients not found in breakfast muesli that support good health.

By incorporating beneficial and thoughtful ingredients into their muesli Primroses kitchen hope to make keeping a balanced diet easier.

Since then Primrose has developed new products in order to make healthy eating a little easier and encourages her customers to empower themselves through the food they eat and listen to their bodies.

PRIMROSES MUESLI and NUT BUTTERS have become a best seller at Bare Health and a favourite of the Bare Health team too! We also love our Nutribullets and making delicious fresh smoothies, so when we saw these little beauties we just had to get them in store :)

 ‘Love Your Stress’

Bare Health Holistics are offering a unique opportunity to learn to love your stress and find new ways to manage it.  You can choose to take one or two, new one hour workshops as part of the half day event at Bare Health in Congleton from 10am on Saturday 28th February.

Tools to Manage the Mind
The first workshop delivered by Personal Development Coach, Lisa Barlow, will provide opportunity to explore tools and techniques to manage the mind.  During this one hour session we will look at the causes of stress, how it manifests in our lives and how we can start to change our relationship with it from one of fear to one of empowerment. You will learn how mindful breathing exercises can help to centre the mind and balance the body and understand the power of self talk, how improving this can alter how we view our lives and ultimately how we feel.

Remedies to Restore Emotional Balance
Enjoy an absorbing hour’s workshop with Jane Bowdenleigh on how to ease life’s stresses using Bach Flower remedies. The remedies are an established therapy, used by generations since the 1930s and Rescue Remedy is known world-wide.

Rescue Remedy is the first remedy most people will consider when experiencing stress or trauma.  A remedy composing of 5 of the Bach Flower essences, Jane will explore when and how to use ‘Rescue’. It is typically a first remedy of choice for a range of emotional stress including grief, sleeplessness and panic attacks. The causes of stress will vary from individual to individual and this valuable workshop will demonstrate how to access the full range of 36 remedies.

The range of Bach Flower essences cater for all aspects of emotional stress, bringing calm and well-being.  Jane will provide a fascinating taster of how individuals can access this self-help therapy for themselves.  As well as going on to identify some of the remedies that will relieve different types of stress.

Jane Bowdenleigh is a Registered Homeopath and currently training as part of the Bach Flower Practitioner Programme.

The workshop is part of new series of monthly events delivered by Bare Health Holistics; beginning with ‘Love Your Stress’ on Saturday 28th February 2015 at Bare Health in Congleton.  The event includes two, one hour workshops, discount on purchases and sample goody bags. Places for each workshop are £10 per person or a discounted £18 for attending both.

Lisa's thought for the week - Remembering with Love

'Remembering with Love'

By Lisa Barlow

Christmas is always a difficult time for me. It has been 6 years since my Mum died and I can honestly say this is the first year where I have actually felt like enjoying myself. I’ve made a conscious effort in previous years to ‘enjoy myself’ but this year has seen a ‘shift’ in the genuineness of that enjoyment.  When we no longer have someone in our lives who once gave us incredible amounts of joy we encounter a feeling of loss, like part of our hearts are missing, because part of it is missing. If you have been touched deeply by the person you will feel this loss deeply.

Most experiences in life ‘pass through us’ with little resistance and we will all experience loss differently, however most of us will feel immense sadness and sorrow as part of the grieving process. I don’t really like talking about grief as a ‘process’. I’m not a ‘process’ person. I’m into people, not processes, we’re all different. And this is what I want to say about dealing with death. We’re all different,

"there are no rules in grief"

said a wise colleague following the death of my Mum. She knew there was more to come.

My own grief hits me in waves, usually when I’m least expecting it. It comes and goes like the ebb and flow of the tide and I let it. I am unashamed of my grief because it is now part of my life, it has become a life event that has forever changed me. I have a list of positive and negative life events like every other person who walks this planet. I’ve ascertained that this is life.

Death is a life event which changes everybody, no matter who you are. How you allow this life event to change you is your choice. How you choose to carry this event is your choice to do so; nobody else will carry their grief as you carry yours, you are unique and so am I. People take different things from death. Our life experiences contribute to who we become. To accept this is to accept our lives, all of it. Yes, our lives change when someone we love dies. We may feel we may never recover and maybe we don’t, maybe all we do is become directed to a different path with different people to have different experiences. I don’t know. Perhaps sometimes it’s necessary to go with the flow and surrender to what is rather than trying to make sense of the senseless. All I know is that death has taught me that my life here is short, and I intend to live it fully, knowing that ‘this too shall pass’, quite possibly in the blink of an eye.
