Homeopathy Remedy of the Week - Aconite – Chilling shock and fear!
Ever been out watching a game on the local sports field and
felt a cold biting wind? Or walked the
children to school in a cold wind that has chilled you so much you thought you
would never feel warm again? There has been
similar weather in the last week. For
some people getting so cold can lead to starting with all types of inflammation
such as a cold, flu, earache, sore throat or cough. In those situations remember Aconite. It is a good acute remedy to use when
symptoms of inflammation are just beginning.
A key word associated with Aconite is shock. In the case of physical ailments a severe
chilling from a cold, dry wind can shock the body and cause you to become more
susceptible to infections. At the first
signs of fever or inflammation take a 30c dose and repeat every 2 hours for the
first 1 to 2 days as required. If Aconite
matches your symptoms they are likely to improve within the first 24 hours.
Similarly a severe shock or accident that leaves the
person feeling fearful and extremely restless can indicate a need for Aconite. The fear is likely to be out of proportion showing
signs of panic attack or trembling with palpitations and tingling
sensations. In these circumstances give
one dose of 30c while arranging any necessary medical help that is
required. Repeat the dose if the fear
and restlessness returns.
Some homeopaths also recommend a dose of Aconite 30c
before visiting the dentist when there is a great deal of fear and panic felt
in anticipation.
Remember to match the symptoms carefully to the best
homeopathic remedy picture you can find.
Begin with one dose. If you feel
immediately better, there is no need to repeat unless the same symptoms
return. For acute illnesses use 30c
potency or lower. If symptoms persist without
change then consult your local homeopath.
